79 years of freedom. 80th year of a nation that keeps rising, evolving and dreaming bigger.
This is India.
But as we celebrate, we must also ask some uncomfortable
questions.
Are our students getting a fair chance when examination paper
leaks and irregularities threaten their dreams?
Can we call ourselves a developed nation when some communities
still struggle for reliable, safe drinking water while emerging data centres
may require enormous amounts of water for cooling?
Can technology be truly “smart” when growing e-waste becomes
tomorrow’s environmental burden?
Can development mean destroying forests, mangroves and salt
pans that protect our cities?
And while we dream of bullet trains, can we also ensure that
the ordinary Indian travelling in overcrowded trains reaches home safely?
Development is necessary. But development without
accountability, sustainability and human sensitivity is not progress.
Our freedom fighters fought for an India where citizens could
question those in power.
So let us question every government—regardless of political
colour.
Let us demand fair education, safe transport, clean air, safe
water, responsible technology and protection of our natural resources.
The real question for Millennials, Gen Z and the generations
growing up today is not simply:
“What will India give us?”
It is:
“What India are we leaving behind for them?”
79 years of Independence.
Entering the 80th year of hope, ambition and responsibility.
This is our India. This is our responsibility. 🇮🇳
