Mumbai – 29th
June 2026 :
The Congress
today launched a blistering attack on the Modi government over the NEET 2026
paper leak, demanding the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister
Dharmendra Pradhan on moral grounds.
Addressing a
press conference at Balkan-ji-Bari Hall, Ghatkopar, AICC Spokesperson Charan
Singh Sapra called the leak a "direct betrayal of lakhs of students".
He slammed the Centre’s “insensitive” refusal to take accountability or express
condolences for nearly 20 student suicides reported across India after the exam
cancellation.
“The system has
collapsed. Nearly 80 paper leaks have occurred under the Modi government - TET
being the latest. This isn’t incompetence, it’s sabotage,” Sapra said. “Instead
of experts, the education system is now run by RSS and BJP stooges. Congress will
not be a mute spectator to this destruction of our youth’s future.”
The Youth
Congress and NSUI are leading nationwide protests demanding Pradhan’s
resignation. In Mumbai, the party has launched press conferences across all Lok
Sabha segments to amplify the “Chatron Ki Goonj” student movement, sparked by
Rahul Gandhi’s recent student interaction in Kota.
“We are
committed to a transparent, credible exam system and will fight until this
rotten structure is overhauled,” said Ketan Shah, President, North East Mumbai
District Congress Committee, who organised the Ghatkopar press meet.
Mumbai Congress
leaders Suresh Koparkar, Brijmohan Sharma, Rakesh Shetty, Rajesh Ingle, Javed
Chaugule, Bhushan Desai and others were present at the Press Conference.
