For the Mulund constituency (155) in the Mumbai Suburban district, this election holds particular significance. Mulund, part of the larger Mumbai North East Lok Sabha constituency, joins the Vidhan Sabha constituencies of Vikhroli (156), Ghatkopar West (169), Ghatkopar East (170), Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar (171), and Bhandup West (157) in rallying citizens to vote.
Mulund’s journey through the
years reveals a dynamic political landscape. Since 1967, the constituency has
seen representation from various parties, from the Indian National Congress to
the Janata Party, and more recently, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP),
reflecting the diversity of political choices in the area. BJP’s Sardar Tara
Singh won’s 4 times from 1999, 2004, 2009 & 2014 due to 20 years of good
work by Sardar Tara Singh, In 2019, BJP’s Mihir Kotecha won the seat, securing
a significant lead over competitors and maintaining BJP’s hold on the
