Mulund, June 10, 2025 – The sacred premises of Kankeshwar Mahadev Mandir at Kadam Pada, Mulund, witnessed a spiritually charged and vibrant atmosphere as a large number of married women gathered on the auspicious occasion of Vad Purnima to perform traditional rituals with deep devotion and faith.
 
Draped in festive sarees and adorned with traditional ornaments, women came together early in the morning to offer prayers under the Vad (banyan) tree, seeking the long life and well-being of their husbands. The rituals began with a ceremonial puja of Lord Shiva and the sacred banyan tree, followed by the symbolic tying of threads around the tree while chanting stories from the Savitribai-Satyavan katha – a central part of Vad Purnima's significance.
Organized by the temple trust and supported by local volunteers, the event saw active participation from residents across Mulund and neighboring areas. The temple was beautifully decorated with flowers and lights, enhancing the festive spirit and reverence of the occasion.
 
The Significance of Vad Purnima
Vad Purnima, also known as Vat Purnima, is a widely celebrated Hindu festival primarily observed in Maharashtra, Gujarat, and parts of South India. On this day, married women fast and pray for the longevity, prosperity, and health of their husbands, drawing inspiration from the legendary devotion of Savitri, who is believed to have brought her husband Satyavan back to life from the clutches of Yama, the God of Death.
 
The banyan tree (Vad/Vat) holds deep spiritual symbolism in Hinduism, representing immortality, resilience, and steadfast devotion – qualities that define an ideal marital bond. Worshipping the Vad tree during this Purnima is believed to bring marital bliss and family well-being.
 
Community and Cultural Impact
Speaking on the occasion, temple priest Shri said, “This celebration is not just about rituals but about strengthening the spiritual bond of marriage and preserving our rich cultural heritage. We are proud to see such enthusiastic participation.”

पारंपरिक परिधानों और गहनों से सजी महिलाएं सुबह-सवेरे मंदिर पहुंचीं और वट वृक्ष की पूजा कर अपने पति की दीर्घायु, सुख-समृद्धि और अच्छे स्वास्थ्य की कामना की। महिलाओं ने विधिपूर्वक वट वृक्ष की परिक्रमा कर पवित्र धागे बांधे और सावित्री-सत्यवान की कथा का श्रवण किया, जो इस पर्व का मुख्य आधार है।

Rash Driving Incident on Mulund-Goregaon Link Road: Woman Seriously Injured, Saved by Passersby

    Mumbai, May 18, 2025 — In a shocking incident around 4:45 PM this evening, a woman driver sustained serious injuries in an accident near the new flyover bridge on the Mulund-Goregaon Link Road, close to Nahur. The mishap is believed to have been caused by rash driving, with the vehicle reportedly speeding between 60 to 80 km/h at a sharp diversion near the under-construction bridge. According to eyewitnesses, the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and crash.

 

Fortunately, help arrived swiftly. A journalist from Mulund and a doctor from Navi Mumbai, both passing through the area, immediately stopped their vehicles to assist. The two good Samaritans assessed the woman’s condition, administered basic first aid, and rushed her to the nearest BMC hospital.
 
The journalist, finding the woman's mobile phone at the scene, promptly contacted her husband and informed him of the accident and her hospitalization. The woman, a resident of Nahur Gaon in Mulund, is currently undergoing treatment. Hospital sources have reported her condition as stable.

Despite repeated awareness campaigns and numerous past tragedies, reckless driving continues to endanger lives on Mumbai’s roads. This incident has once again sparked concern among local residents about the lack of safety measures on busy link roads like this one.
 
Locals are also blaming the ongoing construction work on the flyover, which has remained incomplete for over 8 years. They allege that the contractor responsible failed to install proper barricades at the diversion, creating a hazardous situation for commuters. The bridge work was ceremonially inaugurated Eight Years ago by former MP Kirit Somaiya, after his son, Neil Kirit Somaiya, win the local civic elections. However, even after eight years, barely 50% of the construction has not been completed.
 
Residents are now questioning who is accountable for this prolonged delay and the lack of safety precautions, which may have contributed to today’s accident. This construction may a new case of big corruption by pol-khol neta itself a big question?
Further details about the woman’s identity and a formal report on the incident are awaited.

मुंबई, १८ मे २०२५ – आज सायंकाळी सुमारे ४:४५ वाजता मुलुंड-गोरेगाव लिंक रोडवरील नव्या उड्डाणपुलाजवळ, नाहूर परिसरात, एका महिलेला गंभीर अपघातात जखमी होण्याची धक्कादायक घटना घडली. वाहनाचा वेग अंदाजे ६० ते ८० किमी/तास होता आणि अपघात उड्डाणपुलाच्या अर्धवट काम सुरू असलेल्या ठिकाणी असलेल्या वळणावर झाला, असे सांगितले जात आहे. प्रत्यक्षदर्शींच्या मते, चालकाचा वाहनावरील ताबा सुटल्याने गाडी रस्त्यावरून घसरून धडकली.
 
सुदैवाने मदत लवकर मिळाली. मुलुंडचे एक पत्रकार आणि नवी मुंबईतील एक डॉक्टर, या मार्गावरून जात असताना थांबले आणि त्यांनी महिलेला मदत केली. त्यांनी तिची प्रकृती तपासून प्राथमिक उपचार दिले व तात्काळ जवळच्या बीएमसी रुग्णालयात दाखल केले.
 
पत्रकाराने घटनास्थळी महिलेचा मोबाईल फोन सापडताच तिच्या पतीशी संपर्क साधला व अपघात आणि रुग्णालयात दाखल झाल्याची माहिती दिली. संबंधित महिला ही मुलुंडच्या नाहूर गावातील रहिवासी असून, सध्या तिच्यावर उपचार सुरू आहेत. रुग्णालयाच्या सूत्रांनी तिची प्रकृती स्थिर असल्याचे सांगितले आहे.

 

मुंबईतील रस्त्यांवर वेगाने व बेफिकीर वाहन चालवण्यामुळे जीवितहानीचा धोका वाढत आहे, हे वारंवार चव्हाट्यावर येत असतानाही परिस्थितीत फारसा फरक पडत नसल्याचे दिसून येते. या घटनेमुळे स्थानिक नागरिकांमध्ये पुन्हा एकदा सुरक्षा उपाययोजनांच्या अभावाबाबत चिंता निर्माण झाली आहे.
 
स्थानिक नागरिकांचे असेही म्हणणे आहे की, उड्डाणपुलाचे काम गेली ८ वर्षे अपूर्ण आहे आणि संबंधित ठेकेदाराने वळणावर योग्य बॅरिकेड्स लावले नाहीत, त्यामुळे वाहनचालकांसाठी धोका निर्माण झाला आहे. आठ वर्षांपूर्वी माजी खासदार किरीट सोमय्या यांच्या हस्ते या पुलाचे भूमिपूजन करण्यात आले होते, जेव्हा त्यांच्या मुलाने – नील किरीट सोमय्या – स्थानिक निवडणूक जिंकली होती (वचन पूर्ति). मात्र आठ वर्षांनंतरही केवळ ५०% कामदेखील पूर्ण झालेले नाही.
 
हा विलंब व सुरक्षेच्या उपाययोजनांचा अभाव याला जबाबदार कोण, असा प्रश्न आता स्थानिक नागरिक विचारत आहेत. या अपघातामागे भ्रष्टाचाराचा मोठा प्रकार लपलेला आहे का, असा संशयही व्यक्त करण्यात येत आहे.

मुलुंड, १४ एप्रिल – भारतरत्न डॉ. बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर यांच्या जयंतीनिमित्त मुलुंडमध्ये एक अद्वितीय आणि प्रेरणादायी मिरवणूक मोठ्या उत्साहात आयोजित करण्यात आली. या भव्य मिरवणुकीचे आयोजन आर.पी.आय. (ईशान्य मुंबई) युवा अध्यक्ष आणि नवीन संकल्प प्रतिष्ठानचे संस्थापक अध्यक्ष श्री. विनोद भाऊराव जाधव यांच्या नेतृत्वाखाली करण्यात आले.

Mulund, April 14 – A grand and inspiring procession was organized in Mulund to celebrate the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar with great enthusiasm and reverence. The magnificent event was led by Mr. Vinod Bhaurao Jadhav, Youth President of RPI (North-East Mumbai) and Founder-President of Navin Sankalp Pratishthan.

Various NGOs, community groups from all walks of life, youth volunteers, women’s groups, and countless followers, admirers, and supporters of Dr. Ambedkar came together to participate in this massive procession. It was not merely a parade, but a movement to promote Babasaheb’s ideals of unity, equality, and service within society.

Thousands of citizens participated wholeheartedly, offering their tributes and salutes to Dr. Ambedkar.

હનુમાન જયંતી પર ભક્તોએ દર્શન માટે દક્ષિણમુખી હનુમાન મંદિરની મુલાકાત લીધી. સ્થાનિક માન્યતા – સતત પાંચ મંગળવારે હનુમાનજીની પૂજા કરતા તમામ ઇચ્છાઓ પૂર્ણ થાય છે

 

આજે પવિત્ર હનુમાન જયંતીના પર્વ પર ભક્તોએ શ્રદ્ધા અને ભક્તિપૂર્વક દક્ષિણમુખી હનુમાન મંદિર ખાતે દર્શન કર્યા. આ ઐતિહાસિક મંદિર સંઘવી એસ્ટેટ, નિત્યાનંદ બિલ્ડિંગ પ્રાંગણમાં સ્થિત છે અને તેની સ્થાપના 1947 সালে કરવામાં આવી હતી.

આ મંદિરની ખાસિયત એ છે કે અહીં સ્થિત હનુમાનજીની પ્રતિમા ખોદકામ દરમ્યાન આ જ જમીનમાંથી મળી આવી હતી. આ પ્રતિમા ખૂબ જ પ્રાચીન અને ચમત્કારિક માનવામાં આવે છે. નિત્યાનંદ બિલ્ડિંગના નિર્માણ સમયે જ્યારે જમીનની ખોદકામ થઈ રહી હતી ત્યારે આ દિવ્ય પ્રતિમા મળી આવી અને ત્યારબાદ અહીં મંદિરની સ્થાપના થઈ.

આ મંદિર અને સમગ્ર સંઘવી એસ્ટેટના સ્થાપક શ્રી વન્માલીદાસ વિઠ્ઠલદાસ સંઘવીજી હતા, જેમનો યોગદાન આ વિસ્તારના વિકાસ તેમજ ધર્મિક વારસાની સંભાળમાં મહત્વપૂર્ણ રહ્યું છે.

સ્થાનિકોની માન્યતા પ્રમાણે, જે કોઇ ભક્ત સતત પાંચ મંગળવારે આ મંદિરમાં ભક્તિપૂર્વક હનુમાનજીની પૂજા કરે છે, તેની દરેક મનોકામના પૂરી થાય છે. આ માન્યતાને કારણે ઘણા દૂર-દૂરથી ભક્તો અહીં દર્શન કરવા આવે છે.

હનુમાન જયંતી નિમિત્તે મંદિરમાં વિશેષ શણગાર કરવામાં આવ્યો હતો. વહેલી સવારે જ ભક્તોની ભીડ ઉમટાઈ હતી. આખો દિવસ ભજન-કિર્તન, આરતી અને પ્રસાદ વિતરણનું આયોજન કરવામાં આવ્યું. ભક્તોએ હનુમાનજીના ચરણોમાં પ્રાર્થના કરી અને શાંતિ, સમૃદ્ધિ અને સુખની કામના કરી.
