Major Accident Averted in Mulund West — Huge Tree Branch Breaks Outside Veena Nagar Gate, No Casualties Reported

Major Accident Averted in Mulund West — Huge Tree Branch Breaks Outside Veena Nagar Gate, No Casualties Reported

A major accident was narrowly avoided outside the main gate of Veena Nagar in Mulund West when a large and heavy branch from an old and massive tree broke off due to strong stormy winds and fell to the ground, completely blocking the road.

Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries in this incident. However, there has been significant damage to property. Luckily, there were very few street vendors present at the time of the incident — otherwise, the outcome could have been much worse.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the fire brigade promptly arrived at the scene and immediately began rescue and clearance operations. You can see visuals related to this incident in our video coverage.

This raises the question: every year before the monsoon, the BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) launches a campaign in the name of tree trimming. While large-scale wood cutting is carried out under this campaign — often for economic benefit — trees that are actually flagged by citizens as dangerous are often deliberately ignored.

In this particular case too, local residents had issued timely warnings about the condition of this tree, but BMC officials chose to ignore it. Now that a major disaster has been averted and property has been damaged, the question arises — who is responsible?

Will the BMC and its concerned officials take responsibility for this loss? Or will it all be buried under paperwork and formality?

Citizens are demanding a fair and impartial investigation into the matter, and strict action against the officials whose negligence led to this situation.

The Journey of Hans Garments & Tailoring, A Legacy of Stitching Dreams Since 1955

In the bustling heart of India’s textile tradition, a humble seed was sown in 1955 by Shri Dalsukhbhai Vaghela, a man of vision, skill, and sincerity. With a single tailoring machine and a dream to clothe his community with dignity and grace, Hans Tailoring was born. In those days, every stitch carried not just fabric, but respect, tradition, and a personal touch.

Through dedication, craftsmanship, and word-of-mouth goodwill, Hans Tailoring became a trusted name among families, professionals, and even wedding households — known for perfect fits and personal service. Dalsukhbhai was not just a tailor, but a creator of confidence, helping people wear their identity with pride.

As time flowed, so did fashion. And with changing times came a new force – Ashvin D. Vaghela, the proud son who inherited not just the legacy, but the passion to modernize it. While respecting his father’s timeless values, Ashvin infused fresh energy and a new-age vision. He understood that customers now wanted both custom tailoring and the convenience of ready-made garments.

Thus began the new chapter – Hans Garments & Tailoring, where tradition meets trend. Under Ashvin’s leadership, the shop evolved into a modern studio, offering readymade wear alongside expert tailoring — blending classic craftsmanship with contemporary fashion needs.
From school uniforms to wedding sherwanis, from corporate formals to everyday wear, Hans Garments & Tailoring became a one-stop destination. It retained the soul of the original tailoring but expanded with choice, variety, and style — always staying rooted in quality and care.

Legacy Continues...
Today, Hans Garments & Tailoring stands tall not just as a shop, but as a story — of two generations, one dream, and countless satisfied customers. With changing trends, growing competition, and digital revolutions, the spirit of Dalsukhbhai continues to inspire — “Always serve people with honesty, humility, and a perfect fit.”

"On the occasion of Vat Purnima, a large gathering of women and devotees at Kankeshwar Mahadev Mandir (Mulund, Kadam Pada); traditional rituals performed."

Mulund, June 10, 2025 – The sacred premises of Kankeshwar Mahadev Mandir at Kadam Pada, Mulund, witnessed a spiritually charged and vibrant atmosphere as a large number of married women gathered on the auspicious occasion of Vad Purnima to perform traditional rituals with deep devotion and faith.

Draped in festive sarees and adorned with traditional ornaments, women came together early in the morning to offer prayers under the Vad (banyan) tree, seeking the long life and well-being of their husbands. The rituals began with a ceremonial puja of Lord Shiva and the sacred banyan tree, followed by the symbolic tying of threads around the tree while chanting stories from the Savitribai-Satyavan katha – a central part of Vad Purnima's significance.
Organized by the temple trust and supported by local volunteers, the event saw active participation from residents across Mulund and neighboring areas. The temple was beautifully decorated with flowers and lights, enhancing the festive spirit and reverence of the occasion.

The Significance of Vad Purnima
Vad Purnima, also known as Vat Purnima, is a widely celebrated Hindu festival primarily observed in Maharashtra, Gujarat, and parts of South India. On this day, married women fast and pray for the longevity, prosperity, and health of their husbands, drawing inspiration from the legendary devotion of Savitri, who is believed to have brought her husband Satyavan back to life from the clutches of Yama, the God of Death.

The banyan tree (Vad/Vat) holds deep spiritual symbolism in Hinduism, representing immortality, resilience, and steadfast devotion – qualities that define an ideal marital bond. Worshipping the Vad tree during this Purnima is believed to bring marital bliss and family well-being.

Community and Cultural Impact
Speaking on the occasion, temple priest Shri said, “This celebration is not just about rituals but about strengthening the spiritual bond of marriage and preserving our rich cultural heritage. We are proud to see such enthusiastic participation.”

The event concluded with distribution of prasad, devotional bhajans, and community interaction, making it a day of shared faith, unity, and blessings.
