Dear Mr.Nitin
I wish to send you the details of the District Badminton & Table Tennis tournament 2012 held on 8th january, sunday 2012 at the kalidas indoor stadium which was hosted by the Rotary Club of Mulund. In all 28 rotary clubs of our dist.3140 of mumbai had registered and 103 rotarians had participated in the event. The event began with the inauguration graced by our PDG.Dr.Bharat Pandya. His words of wisdom and encouragement was a booster to the participants to start their games. The event came to an end with the Valedictory ceremony graced by our current District Governor Vijay Jalan who gave away the awards to the deserving players. The chairman for this event was Rtn.Vishal Thakkar .
Our main objective to hold such an event year after year is to promote the bonhomie and fellowship, togetherness among all Rotarians. With 6000 and more membership in Mumbai district alone its quite difficult to know each other, so this is a kind of platform where you welcom and meet rotarians where sometimes innovative humanitarian projects are also discussed and agreed upon to organize jointly by neighboring clubs. Overall the event was well attended and we saw some superb action of sportsmanship and game spirit among our rotarians.
