Monkey rescued from Concert jungle





Monkey lost its way and found in Marol area rescued by local resident, enjoys drinking water with pipe and eating fruits. Ketan Chokshi & Rohini Fernandes call-up organization working for wildlife rescue Plant & Animal Welfare Society – Mumbai (PAWS-Mumbai) and Forest Department. Now it is under observation and very soon it was be release back into the natural habitat of forest.

SVB's Oxford Hight School is celebrating an event on the occasion of sochool re-opening day by welcoming Oxfordians for the academic year 2009 - 2010. The human body without the soul is of no value, in the same way the school without student can not be called a school.

While talking to PNR News, Head Mistress of School Smt. Shavinder Kaur said "the noble ideas of our founder president Dr.R.Varadarajan to welcome our students to make them feel important is carried forward by our worthy staff members of this institution .

The students were welcomed them by showering their blessing along with flower petals, handing them over welcome cards by Head Mistress along with her teaching & non teaching staff, playing soothing tunes on the orchestra, a movies show and by singing welcome songs to wish students all the success for the year ahead.

This functiond were ended by taking the blessing of goddess of learning "Ma Saraswati" in the form of Saraswati Pooja followed by sweets and prasad.

Kaur said an line " You can run the school without building but not with out these heavenly souls and for us students are the souls".

De-Recognised College distributed Pamphlet to Misled students



Smt. L.T.Shinde Jr. College at Bhandup West was de-recognised by State Education Board 5-6 months back, now they officially distributing the pamphlets in Bhandup & nearby area appealing and inviting application for admission for 2009 – 2010.

 

In October after receiving after dummy candidates had appeared in place of candidate for 2008 HSC Exams, later a team from the board was also visited the college, they had not seen any proper rooms, faculty, teaching staff or any group, so the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education had de-recognised the college

 

Despite being de-recognised the college was enrolling students for March 2009 HSC Exams, where students were waiting for their Hall Tickets, disappointed when college authority given shocking news to the students that the hall tickets had not issued by board. While students asked for the reason the college authority said “the board has now asked Rs. 9,500 as late fees & also asked them to go to Vashi Divisional board”.

 

While students along with parents went to the divisional board office said “where they got an shocking news that the college from were they are appearing for exam had been de-recognised by the board last year itself and if we want to appear for this academic year then we have to appear from any other college by paying Rs. 9,500 as late fees, they also said the college authority had never told us about de-recognised of college by the board and if we have any such information, then we shall been approach to the board or any other college for exam in starting itself”.

 

The pamphlet saying that the institution is Quality Education is Our Motto” and “Recognised by Government, Well Experienced & Highly Qualified Teaching Staff, Extra Activities & Inter School Competitions, Guarantee for result oriented product with a sterling Well Disciplined Character, We Encouragement for Social & Cultural Activities”. But while talking to local resident said we never see any staff, now students who come daily to college, or we never seed any activities and Competition in you vicinity”.

 

Premnath Shinde the Secretary of Shubhlaxmi Shikshan Sanatha (Raigad) who run the college had refused to say any thing on this issue.

 

Mumbai Divisional Board Secretary Basanti Roy Siad “WE had de-recognised the Smt. L. T. Shinde Jr. College last year itself, event then they had enrolling students for March 2009 HSC Exams,  and We do not want students to suffer, so we had written a letter to the deputy director's office to see if any students are appearing from there, can give exams from other colleges at that time.  If now too this institution is enrolling students, it is serious issue. If we will receive any such complaint from parents show the pamphlet, we will take strong action the management”.

Rahul's day for Students & Parents………




"Fun Mast 2009" an annual event day organised by Parents Teachers Association (PTA) of Hiranandani Foundation School at Powai on HFS Ground on 7th February 2009. In that event special attraction was Indian Idol 1st Co- Winner Rahul Vaidya, who was performed his songs and entertained to the public for 3 hrs.

Speaking to PNR News, Mrs Radha Iyyer was told the main aim behind this event that we were not just entertaining to the parents and students but given a good massage to them. that's why we were organised games, book stalls, magic shows for the children's.

PAWS-Mumbai Exposes Wildlife Trade Racket in Mumbai





The Anti – Poaching Unit, Vigilance Wing of forest department with the help of Plant & Animals Welfare Society -Mumbai (PAWS-Mumbai) team lead an trap on Saturday at International Air Port, arrested two people Mohammed Siddiq Sayyad & Farhan Anwar Khan with a Black Winged Kite in
Black Santro No.: MH 04 BY 9368, On Sunday they were presented before The Holiday Magistrate's Court in Bandra and sentenced to seven day forest custody.
During the interrogation, he given the name of an shop keeper at Crawford Market and Mohammed Siddiq Sayyad was taken to the spot he identified Ashfaq Yasin Mohmin, where two Hawks bird were recovered from his shop. This bird is protected under Schedule I Part III of Wildlife Protection Act 1972. This arrested man has been doing illegal activity of selling protected birds in past also& has been booked for such an offence. Ashfaq Yasin Mohin was produced before Andheri Court and sentenced to seven day forest custody.
Sunish Subramanian, Hony. Animals Welfare Officer & Founder PAWS-Mumbai said "As Crawford market is well known for illegal wildlife, the forest department should keep an regular check up and also setup forest check posts at all the gates of Crawford, it is also the duty in front of the Market.
Recently, Indian armed forces had captured one such bird from Indo-Pak border in Rajasthan, such birds are used for surveillance of our border areas by Pakistan.

AWO's under one banner………… at Juhu beach





Animal Welfare Organisation and Animal Lovers from all over Mumbai came under common banner to save stray dogs and organized a rally at Juhu beach after recent Bombay High Court decision on killing nuisance stray dogs in the city.

Celebrities like Anju Mahendru, Raju Kher, Jiah Khan, Urvashi Dholakia and Neena Gupta were also taken part with their canine to express their stand to support animal welfare organisation in the movement to save dogs from killing.

In December 2008, the Bombay High Court ruled that stray dogs there were nuisance could be killed. While taking PNR News, an animal lover Nisha Kunju said "after the order there is a chance, BMC will misuse the power and start killing stray dogs" and instead of killing to control stray dog population the BMC should set up Sterilization centers in each ward, so that the sterilization process will be fast.

On Monday at around 11.30 am, a resident of Kismat Nagar Bhandup, Kitabunisa Khan (35) a mother of 4 children, who killed her daughter Afreen Bano(2) and Salman (5) and attempted to suicide, it came to know when her other two children Farida (8) and Samsher Khan (11) returned home from school and had seen that the door was locked from inside, they ran to aunt's home who stay just neighbourhood room and asked her about mother, as she do not know about her, we went back to home and started banging on the door, thinking that she may inside, and the door was opened. "We were shocked to see my mother laying on the ground and have rope on her neck, younger sister & bother they were laying on the bed and I immediately run to call my father Shabir Ahmed Khan (36) who is scrap dealer, till that time neighbours who informed the police about this incident" said Samsher the elder son.

Raziya Khatun the sister of Kitubunisa who stay in the neighbouring room said "there is no fighting in their family nor they under going any financial crisis, but she was little high temper, as she was suffering from mental illness so in some time she is Ok and next time she is violent and till 10 am we were chatting, and at that time I never thought that she may do such a thing.

While talking to Press at Bhandup Police Station, Mr. Prakash Jadav Senior Police Inspector said as soon as we received the information our Police reached the spo, they taken the custody of the body & send to the Mulund General Hospital, where two children were declared as death and the women was in unconscious condition, after preliminary treatment and as she was in a critical condition so she had shifted to Sion Hospital. As it was clear case of murder & attempt to suicide and at the time of crime no family member were present in home. So we booked Kitabunisa Khan (35) under Section 302 of the IPC for Murder and also booked her for attempt to suicide. We will take the custody once she recovered.

PNR News Exclusive Report on Fever Pitch 2008 – 2009
On 12th & 13th December, two days inter Colleges festival "Fever Pitch 2008 – 2009" was organized by VPM's R.Z. Shah College at Mulund (East) were around 28 colleges & around 1000 student were taken part is various competition from Ulhasnagar, Ambernath, Dombivali, Kalyan, Kalva, Thane, Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar, Sion, Matunga & Airoli area, this festival was inaugurated by Dr. V.A. Pai, Principal of the VPM's R.Z. Shah College with his inspiring speech to the students. In this festival, the students not only enjoyed the competition but also given the tribute to our brave officers who have laid down their lives to the call of duty to save Mumbai city from terrorist attack.
Shri. P. D. Gavande, the Chief Guest of the event, had guided the student how to became responsible citizen of country, Shri. N.B.H. Kulkarni, the founder president of the VPM, guided the student community about how to maintain discipline in their daily life. While talking with PNR News, Student Council Secretary Sampson Fernandas said "In such event when students get involved in extra curricular activities, it brings out creativity of the students, which genuinely contribute to our country". The attraction of the festival was celebrity & actor Abhijeet Kelkar who not only guided the students, but also enjoyed the students by dancing with them and also shared his experience with students.
